Oscar Wilde wrote that “A map of the world that does not include Utopia is not worth even glancing at”. From ancient times humanity has dreamed of, imagined, pursued and created various forms of Utopia; a place or state loosely describing perfection that is as hard to define as it is to find. In this subject students will engage in an exploration of utopian thinking from the ancient era to the present day and question the significance it may hold for the future. This subject uses a multidisciplinary approach that touches on English, History, Philosophy, Politics, Creative Arts and Law. Students will have the opportunity to develop university specific skills and build a sense of belonging within the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts.
